KHULNA, Sep 20 (BSS): The journalist community here today formed a human chain in protest against the attacks on New Age Staff Correspondent of Khulna Tapos Kanti Das and local newsman of Janmabhumi, Amirul Islam.
They demanded of the government to arrest the attackers immediately and ensure exemplary punishment.
Journalists from both print and electronic media attended the programme organised by Khulna Press Club.
Leaders and activists of different political and socio-cultural organisations also joined the programme to express their solidarity.
With Khulna Press Club President Ahmed Ali Khan in the chair, the programme was addressed, among others, by Begum Ferdousi Ali, Mokbul Hossain Mintu, SM Zahid Hossain, Sheikh Abu Hasan, AK Hiru, Zakir Hossain, Md Saheb Ali, Gourango Nandi, Amal Saha, SM Habib, Mamun Reza, Subir Roy and Abdul Malek.
