এশিয়ায় ক্রমেই জনপ্রিয় হয়ে উঠছে ইসলামী ব্যাংক ব্যবস্থা। বিভিন্ন ব্যাংক একের পর এক তাদের গ্রাহকদের জন্য ইসলামিক ব্যাংকিং সেবা চালু করছে। মালয়েশিয়ায় গত মে মাস পর্যন- পূর্ববতর্ী ১২ মাসে ইসলামী ব্যাংকিং পদ্ধতিতে গাড়ি বিনিয়োগ প্রদান ২০ শতাংশ বেড়েছে। ইন্দোনেশিয়ায় গত ৫ বছরে ইসলামী ব্যাংকিং শাখা বেড়েছে তিনগুণ।

গত ২০০৯-১০ অর্থবছরে দক্ষিণ এশিয়ার দেশগুলোয় পণ্য রপ্তানি বাংলাদেশের মোট রপ্তানির মাত্র ২ দশমিক ৬০ শতাংশে দাঁড়িয়েছে। রপ্তানি উন্নয়ন ব্যুরোর (ইপিবি) হালনাগাদ পরিসংখ্যান থেকে এ তথ্য পাওয়া গেছে।
